Legendum: how to play, where to play & similar games
Legendum is an incremental / idle RPG by the solo developer Vadeum. In the developer's words, you "start as a nobody and become a legend": you live many lives in a fantasy world, age from youth to elder, and your deeds shape the world your next life inherits. The example on the official page: spare a goblin in one life and you may meet them as a trader in the next.

What you do in Legendum
- Idle horde combat: fight as an armored knight, a ranger striking from afar or a wizard; how you build and equip your character decides how well you do.
- A whole lifetime: you start young and sharp; as the years pass your body slows while your skills remain.
- A daily schedule: plan your days, for example a farmhand might study at dawn, work the fields by day and relax in the tavern in the evening.
- The world is your skill tree: your chronicle is a branching web of places, people and secrets, some hidden until you explore. You spend Resolve, earned by raising your Legend Rank, to unlock new threads.
- Many lives, one story: each life uncovers more of a dark plot that spans generations, and you choose how each life begins (farmhand, scholar, wizard's apprentice, prisoner and more). In the demo only Farmhand and Scholar (work in progress) are available.
How to play Legendum
- Open the official page on itch.io and press Run game. The web version is made for a 1600×900 screen or larger; on a smaller screen use the settings cog at the top to switch to fullscreen, or try the download or Steam demo.
- A new life starts with The Great Chronicle: raise your Legend Rank to earn Resolve, and spend Resolve to unlock new threads in the chronicle. Press Venture Forth to begin.
- Click nodes in the chronicle to unlock them and drag to pan around it, as the hints in the corner show. Your character's age is shown on the bar at the bottom.
- Plan your character's days, train skills and send them into idle combat, then keep an eye on HP (the red bar on the right).
- When a life ends (or you retire early), you start again; what you did shapes the next life.

Legendum won't open or has no sound?
- The game won't open or stays blank
- Reload the itch.io page and press Run game again, and use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Ad or script blockers can stop itch.io's game frame from loading; allow itch.io if so.
- I can't see the whole game / have to scroll
- The web version targets 1600×900 or higher. Open the settings cog at the top and turn on fullscreen, zoom your browser out, or use the Windows/Linux download or the Steam demo.
- There's no sound
- Browsers block audio until you click the page, so click inside the game once. Also check the music button in the top bar and your tab isn't muted.
- My progress is gone
- Browser games save in your browser's storage, so clearing site data or using a private window wipes it. Use the save button in the top bar and play in the same browser.
