Booster Pack Heroes: how to play, where to play & similar games
Booster Pack Heroes is a short incremental game from Funday Games (authors Funday Games and Jordy) about opening booster packs and surviving monster hordes. Your tower stands in the middle of the map, monsters walk in from every side, and the heroes you pull from packs fight them off. Between fights you discover rarer heroes, upgrade them, cast spells and push through harder chapters.

What's in the demo
- Booster packs: open packs to find heroes, including rare ones and a chance of foil versions of heroes and tomes.
- Monster hordes: enemies come in from the edges and attack the tower in the middle.
- Upgrades: a shop (with a reroll upgrade), a skill tree, and a separate resource that unlocks shop upgrades.
- Spells and chapters: cast spells and move on to harder chapters.
- Interlopers: since the 19 October demo update, any pack has a very small chance to drop a hero from the full game.
How to play Booster Pack Heroes
- Open the itch.io page and press Run game. The Unity demo needs a few seconds to load.
- Click the Core Box in the middle of the screen to start.
- Your tower appears in the centre and monsters start walking in from all sides. Heroes from your packs fight them.
- Between fights, spend what you've earned: buy and open packs, upgrade heroes, and unlock nodes on the skill tree.
- Use spells, survive each wave and clear the chapters one by one.

Booster Pack Heroes won't open or has no sound?
- The demo won't load or stays black
- It's a Unity WebGL build, so it needs WebGL. Use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge or Firefox on a computer, turn on hardware acceleration in the browser settings, close other heavy tabs, and give the first load some time. Ad and script blockers can also stop itch.io's game frame from loading.
- There's no sound
- Click inside the game once; browsers only start audio after you interact. Check the tab isn't muted, check the system volume, and look in the in-game settings (gear icon).
- It runs slowly
- Switch to fullscreen with the button under the game on itch.io, close other tabs, and make sure the browser is using your graphics card. The 19 Oct update also improved performance with many units on screen.
- Can't play it on a phone
- The browser demo is meant for desktop. The iOS and Android versions arrive on 10 November 2026.
