Bee Rise (subtitled Idle Hive Kingdom on its title screen) is an idle colony-building game by the developer Rick&Jean. You fly the queen bee around a meadow, gather nectar, hatch worker bees that collect nectar for the hive, and recruit guards to protect it from invading wasps. What you do in Bee Rise
- Gathering: fly the queen to flower bushes and gather nectar; the tutorial says special flowers give pollen.
- Workers: the Workers tab hatches more worker bees, which collect nectar for your hive, and upgrades such as Bigger Bushes (more nectar per bush) and Keen Senses (faster foraging and nectar regrowth).
- Guards and defence: guards protect your hive from invading wasps. In our session the Hive Defense mode was locked until you have 1,000 honey.
- Boosts: cards at the top of the screen (Free Supply, Royal Feast, Guard Squad, DNA Boost) can be tapped when they are ready.
- Research and progression: a Research tab, plus quests, daily gifts, awards and rebirth to grow the colony further.
How to play Bee Rise
- Open the browser version from GameDistribution and press Play Now (accept or manage the privacy notice first).
- On the title screen press Start playing. A short tutorial explains the basics; press Start playing again to close it.
- Move the queen with WASD or the arrow keys (or the on-screen joystick) to a flower bush and press Space or the Gather button to collect nectar.
- Spend what you collect in the Workers tab to hatch more workers, so the hive earns honey while you keep gathering.
- Recruit guards before wasps arrive, tap boosts when they're ready, and use Research upgrades to speed up production.

Bee Rise won't open or has no sound?
- The game won't open or stays blank
- Use an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, turn off ad or script blockers for the page and reload. The game loads after the GameDistribution privacy notice and the Play Now button, so accept or manage the notice first.
- There's no sound
- Browsers only start audio after you click or tap the page. Check the tab isn't muted (right-click the tab), turn the system volume up, and on a phone make sure silent mode is off.
- The keys don't do anything
- Click inside the game once so it has keyboard focus, then use WASD or the arrow keys and Space.
- It looks squashed on my phone
- GameDistribution lists the game for landscape mode, so turn your phone sideways.
